PC Magazine is celebrating its 25th anniversary by auctioning nine artsy laptops to benefit the National Cristina Foundation (NCF). A total of nine artists including Paul Frank, Coltrane Curtis, Shepard Fairey, and DDC Lab took part in the Computerlicious Design Experience sponsored by HP and PC Magazine, which tasked each artist with the modification of one of four HP laptop models that included the HP Pavilion tx1000z, HP Pavilion dv6500t, HP Pavilion dv9500z or HP Pavilion HDX 9000 (Dragon)
These artists were free to use any materials they wanted to make the final design their own. Some kept it simple like Paul Frank who simply covered the laptop with its signature Julius character, while others like Peter Harper used beads to create a red dragon on top of HP's Dragon PC. There's no doubt all nine designs are very unique and different from each other, so head over to the auction page to check them out, maybe even bet on one.
The eBay auction started on May 12 and will continue through May 19th with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the NCF who donates used computer equipment to non-profits and schools for the training of people in need.
